The original HK P7, designed as a police pistol, became famous for its unique grip tensioning system, in which the large tensioning slide at the front of the grip is operated by firmly gripping the grip. The P7 does not have any other safety features. While the original version of the P7 was equipped with a magazine holder next to the base of the single-stack magazine, the M13 has a magazine release on both sides of the trigger guard and a double-stack magazine.
Thanks to its fixed (non-tilting) barrel, the real-life model is known for its high level of precision. Among other things, the P7 was used by the GSG 9 for a long time.
The GBB airsoft version is made entirely of metal and features the same special mechanism that requires the grip lever to be cocked before the weapon is ready to fire. The grip lever also functions as a slide stop lever.
