The S&T Type 64 AEG airsoft rifle is a full-size electric replica based on the service rifle used by the Japanese Self-Defense Forces. The model is intended for both airsoft gameplay and historical or military reenactment, where realistic construction and visual accuracy are important. The replica combines the classic battle rifle profile with AEG drive system, offering solid materials and practical design solutions.
Construction and finish
The replica is made of metal with natural wood elements, accurately reflecting the character of the original firearm.
The wooden pistol grip and stock contribute to an authentic military appearance and proper weight distribution. The metal receiver, outer barrel, and external components enhance overall durability. The replica is equipped with an integrated, folding bipod, allowing for stable firing from prone or supported positions.
The replica features mechanical, folding iron sights consistent with the original Type 64 sighting system. Two sling attachment points are provided, allowing the use of different sling configurations.
Functionality and performance
The replica is powered by a classic AEG system based on a dedicated gearbox, driven by a Short Axel type motor. The
6.04 mm inner barrel with a length of 500 mm supports stable BB trajectory and improved shot consistency. A quick spring change system allows easy adjustment to local FPS limits. Hop-up adjustment is located under the mock bolt cover.
The replica is also compatible with bayonet mounting, further enhancing historical accuracy.
Internal mechanism
Inside the replica, a
dedicated gearbox mounted on 8 mm ball bearings is used, contributing to smooth operation and stable drivetrain performance. Power is provided by a
18000 RPM Short Axel motor, matched to the factory configuration of the replica and ensuring proper operating culture in stock setup. These technical solutions make the replica suitable for regular airsoft use.
A distinctive feature of the construction is the
hinged buttplate, folding upward at a right angle relative to the stock, a solution also known from rifles such as the M14. This element improves stability when firing from prone or supported positions.
